Hi this is your SRC executive here to update you on a few things that are going on with our school and the student representative counsel.
First of all, a big thank you to all of you out there who have been donating to the Twitti School. Every donation is very appreciated and helps our friends in Zambia. Also a thank you goes out to all the students and teachers who volunteer their time to do the fundraising.
One of our newest fundraisers and wonderful ways of being green is our new Green Bags! They are reusable bags that say “George Street Middle School, Going Green”. They are the wonderful colors of our school, purple and gold and only cost 3, 00$! Our Green Bags our great for carrying light weight amounts. Some examples are: gym clothes, use as a purse, groceries etc. Make sure that you don’t stuff the bags full, they can break.
In the next few days SRC reps from each house will be going around to the classes to tell students about Purple and Gold G’s. A Gold G is for students who have been involved in 3 or more different school activities during this year. Even if you have done three activities, you may not get a Gold G because you participated less than required. So be very accurate! A Purple G is for students who have participated in A LOT of school activities and stand out among students. The reps will be giving more details as they go to the classes and can answer any questions you may have. The reps will also be asking you to tell them the activities you have been in that year, so you can apply for the award. If you have been in less than three, you cannot receive the award. Be sure to be very accurate on how much you participated in each activity because it will matter on the result of if you get the award or not.
This Friday June 5th 2009, there will be a sock hop for each grade during their options. This sock hop will be to fundraise for the Twitti School. It will cost 50¢ to get into the sock hop, hope you all will come!
Until next time,
Your V-P,
Madison Dixon J
